The swamp, the "claires"

Formerly the banks of the Seudre estuary were home to thousands of hectares of salt marshes. Abandoned due to the lack of profitability at the end of the 19th century, many of these marshes were transformed into fields of light and found a second life.

We are fortunate to own a property established on a site of this type and to work on another, neighboring, also placed on these ancient marshes.

We can use more than 50 hectares to raise and refine our oysters.

A stone's throw from the magnificent bell tower of Marennes, our company has the enormous privilege of seeing its two terrestrial structures united on a single site.

The maturing site in "claire": Le Fenard ...

More than 19 hectares of old salt marshes, located at the catch of Fenard, allow us to refine our oysters on the site of our establishment.

This large surface of clear gives us a great capacity of refining.

In fact, we could refine the tonnage we sell each year each month.

The quality of the terroir of this site for the greening and refining of oysters is exceptional in its regularity and has won us a good number of medals in Paris or in Poitou-Charentes.

The breeding site in "claire" : La Pauline ...

On the neighboring site of La Pauline, on an area of more than 30 hectares, we raise our Special Pousse en claire and our Imperial Shrimps.

Between 12 and 15 tonnes of pousse en claire and one tonne of shrimps are produced in the fields of this marsh. Here too, the terroir is very good and allows us to offer each year to our customers Pousses en claire with an exceptional flavor, many times rewarded in Paris or Poitou-Charentes.

The large area of clears available allows us to practice oyster and shrimp farming as extensively as possible, to optimize the results.
